Morning folks,
I'll keep this short & sweet. October and November are VERY busy months and there are a lot of great tech events coming up over the next couple of months.
1. BarCamp Charlotte - Charlotte, Saturday, Oct. 22, 2010
FREE
BarCamp is a FREE community tech event that focuses on new ideas and the community. Professions from UX, design, development, etc. all come together to share ideas. Anybody is welcome to pitch an idea for a session, and the attendees vote for the sessions they want to hear. If you don't want to pitch a session then you can just hang out and be part of the conversation. It's a great time. http://barcampcharlotte6.eventbrite.com/
2. Web Visions - Atlanta, Nov 17 - 18
Discount Code - WVCHARUX
Macquarium, one of our sponsors, is helping to organize a fancy web shin dig in Atlanta in November. The conference will cover web & mobile design, technology, user experience, & business strategy. You'll even get a nice tour of the Macquarium offices. They've hooked our group up with a nice discount code.
3. Startup Weekend - Charlotte, Nov 4-6
Discount Code - UXers
I love startup weekend. It's a great local event for folks interested in creating or helping create a startup. The focus is to create a web or mobile application that could form the basis of a credible business over a weekend. We had a handful of folks in the UX group participate last time and our very own Tim Cheadle, Mike Walker, Flaviu Simihaian won with their startup, Talkible. Natasha Iriziray & Josh Mauldin rocked things on the design/ux side of the house.
4. IndieConf - Raleigh, Nov 19
Discount Code - bpainter30
Independent Web Professionals ConferenceJust getting started in web freelancing? Or maybe you're looking for ways to get new clients, be more productive, save money, expand your network, or to develop your ideas in to marketable products? If any of these apply to you, indieconf is for you.
I have 4 free tickets for this event that we'll be giving out at the meetup tonight.
